All too soon, it's time to say goodbye & wave them off to their lovely new homes. Click the puppies names to visit their page & follow their progress through life.
4 Puppies born 20/12/2012 - 4 dogs - 3 brown tri, 1 black tri.
It is traditional that my daughter Carelle names the puppies as they are born. As Carelle is a singer who writes pop country music, she chose to name them after country music artists - so we have Rascal (Rascal Flatts), Cyrus (Billy-Ray Cyrus or Miley!), Denver (John Denver) & Cash (Johnny Cash). As Peppi is being so protective this time around, I have not been able to handle them very much - she even assists with the weighing! As a result there are no individual photos at one day old. They are growing fast & already on day four, each weigh over half a kilo, a couple nearer 600g!
PUPPIES HAVE THEIR OWN PAGES!! BUT TO SEE PHOTOS & WEIGHTS OF THEM ALL, SEE BELOW. KEEP SCROLLING DOWN TO SEE LATEST UPDATES!

The Great Outdoors at 6 Weeks
The pups have now experienced the great outdoors, or perhaps more accurately, the 'dog yard'. It's great fun, lots of toys, leaves, wind even light rain - well it is a British winter (although summer is much the same!). The pups now have a crate in their pen to get them used to it as all their new owners will be using one - the pups will love it!
I'm still agonising over which pup is to go where. Fortunately they are all incredibly affectionate and sociable without being bullies or 'pains in the backside' - yes even at this tender age they can be! They are little darlings and each is incredibly handsome - I'm thrilled with them.
They have also been lulled to sleep every day to the sound of gunshot, fireworks and thunder - of course they don't turn a hair.
It's been wall to wall visitors of all ages from little children to great big kids (at heart). Three of my Lappy breeder friends, Mary (Starlapps), Jennifer (Inifindigo) and Susanne (Lappvikens) came to stay last weekend and we were drinking bubbles, chatting all things Lappy and cuddling the pups until the very early hours of the morning - I'm getting a bit old for staying up 'til 3am, but it was great fun!
Peppi loves gently playing with them, teaching them manners and if they are really good, they even get a sneaky gulp at the milk bar.... Thankfully they are now eating kibble, but their favourite is still the Natural Instinct which comprises the majority of their diet.
It's been a crazy week here and I feel like I've turned into a zoo keeper with the sole responsibility of all the dogs, the cat, the birds etc., and in between all that, running my business. As a result I've fallen behind with recent photos and updating this website. With six more lots of visitors planned over the weekend, it still may take a while I'm afraid...... in the meantime, today I filmed a little video of the pups playing outside and you can get a really good look at each of them - I hope that will tide you over ;-)

Getting More Adventurous!
The puppies have now been moved downstairs into my dining room. This means only one thing - even more playtime and cuddles! The pups love running around the room and climbing all over us and their Mum! They are really tucking into their food, but still won't eat their kibble or scrambled egg. They have had a good chew on their Mum's chicken wings, but their teeth are not yet big enough to make any impact. They are bundling like crazy with each other and sometimes have a brief hissy fit! I lay some newspaper on the floor and they are getting very good about finding the paper for a wee. There is snow outside and I think it's a bit too cold to put them out for a play, so fresh air & house training will have to wait for a while.
Weaning Time!
At 2.5 weeks I introduce solid food. This time I used Natural Instinct Weaning food (ground raw meat and bones) initially mixed with a little warm water. The pups started by tasting it off my finger - yum, they like! None of this sliding around, wearing it, these guys just got stuck in! At time of writing the pups are 3.5 weeks and loving their food. Tonight I tried them on Orijen Puppy kibble softened to a soft paste with warm water and their reaction was to back right off and pretend they couldn't see it! I guess they are loving their raw meat, but I shall persevere as I want them leaving here used to a diet of both kibble and fresh food. I will gradually let the consistency change to include lumps as their teeth come down.
Below are some snapshots of their mealtimes, followed by a short video of them eating and then sleeping it off! They are changing so much every day. They now have little teeth breaking through, they are playing with toys and each other and what's really cute is that they are now running to the edge of the box for cuddles when they hear us approaching, awww! I may have to move them downstairs tomorrow as Cyrus is almost climbing out of the box! Their personalities are really shining through - they are smashing little (actually really rather big) boys!
