Wonderful Ruska is now enjoying her retirement with Alice, learning lots of new tricks & looking forward to strutting her stuff again in the show ring, just need to grow a new coat first!
Exciting plans for Ruska! We are expecting puppies from Ruska at the end of February. It is a dual sired mating, with puppies hoped for from both Lecibsin Salo of TabanyaRuu JW (import Finland) & Lappizaros Glazyr (import Sweden). These puppies will create maximum genetic diversity from just one litter which of course has welfare benefits for the bitch and fits with my personal goals of looking further afield when it comes to choosing my stud dogs & their bloodlines. I will be DNA testing the puppies to establish who the sire is for each one and registering the puppies accordingly with the Kennel Club. This has been permissible since last summer - to read the advantages of dual sired matings and why the KC have embraced the idea, click here. Ruska, Salo and Ice are all exceptionally cuddly, loving dogs and I can't wait to see what they produce and 'who's the Daddy'!
Photos of Salo & Ice, taken at Norman's Bay, Pevensey. Ice was imported into the UK in 2013 by Susanne Crowhurst (Lappvikens), Mary Starling (Starlapps) & myself & is living with Susanne until it's time to return to Sweden. He has already sired a lovely litter for Niki Allison (Oberitz) and of course Salo's gorgeous puppies can be viewed on this site (hmmm, have a bunch of photos still to upload - work in progress!). Ruska had a super litter last year in Norway for Jonna Almänas- one of the puppies was exported to Australia, you can read about him here.

Hips : B/C See Ruska's Pedigree on Koiranet HERE I was delighted when the opportunity presented itself to add this beautiful girl to my breeding plans. She has already proved herself to be a fantastic mother and is quite the showgirl, being not only a Nordic Champion but also Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian &, Estonian Champion but also gained the title of Champion International de Beauté. Not just a pretty face, she also has an amazing temperament, scoring an incredible 221 points in her temperament test. Ruska was bred by Katja Rantanen of Ruskahallan Kennels in Finland. Ruska loves active pursuits and has found the perfect partnership home living with Alice, just a few miles from me. Alice was waiting for a puppy from me, but couldn't resist Ruska's sweet expression and lively nature - they will have lots of fun together and Alice has already enrolled her in a training class and intends to take part in Canicross. Ruska is currently growing her coat back after having a litter in Norway earlier this year. We hope she enjoys showing in the UK as much as she did overseas. I plan to have a litter from her next summer once she is completely settled. Grateful thanks to Jonna in Norway for allowing us to have this gorgeous girl. I know Jonna will delight in hearing all about Ruska's UK adventures! |
