I am so excited to share the news that we have a wonderful new import -
Shacal Mihkku of TabanyaRuu
I watched his sire, Multi Ch PETÄJÄMAAN VIKSU win Best of Breed at The World Dog Show in Finland 2014 (under Saara Sampakoski Breed Specialist of renowned Shacal Kennel) and I was delighted for him and his lovely owner Pirjo - he is so impressive in the fur! I have long admired Viksu and have considered in the past importing his frozen semen. I also love his Grandsire Ch Cantavia Leijonamieli, so much so that in 2009 I flew T. Peppi to Finland & the result was a wonderful litter from him.
Saara already knew how much I loved Mihkku's dam Shacal Joutava (Höttö) so when the litter was born she asked me if I might be interested in having a puppy from it. Höttö's sire, Orso-Farm Äkäspenni was so close to coming to the UK back in 2009 and although the plans had to change, I've followed his progeny with interest. Höttö's dam Shacal Reilu Peli is already living in the UK and is a beautiful bitch, so it's no surprise that Höttö is totally breathtaking. I must be honest, I wasn't really looking to buy another dog but I can always be tempted and this was a wonderful opportunity to bring in a puppy without the usual suspects in the lineage and a pedigree that was packed full of gorgeous dogs (and prcd-PRA clear). When I saw the first photos of Mihkku, I was particularly struck by his head and expression, in fact I just loved everything about him! Saara very kindly kept me updated with photos and lovely videos and seeing him on the move just confirmed to me that he was 'the one' :-) All I had to do was find him an amazing co-own home - step up Karissa and Mark who own T. Glazyr Loki out of Lappizaros Glazyr & Multi Ch Ruskahallan Duggolas of T. They were already considering getting a second Lappy from me and had their hearts set on a wolf sable. I had explained that whilst I was in the throws of importing frozen semen from the gorgeous wolf sable Ch Lappjuscan Brutus, I wouldn't be using it for a year but that I might have an alternative plan ;-) Needless to say Karissa and Mark were fully onboard and very excited to bypass the initial 'little bitey puppy phase' and jump straight into a playmate for Loki! The three months have positively dragged but finally the day has arrived and gorgeous little (or not so little!) Mihkku is finally here :-) I'm sure Loki is going to absolutely love his new 'brother'. Eternal thanks to Saara and Pia for this very special chap.
